Want to dive alongside a friend or loved one who has a physical or cognitive disability? CEBA trains Adaptive Diver Buddies — certified companions who learn specialized in-water support techniques so adaptive divers can explore safely and confidently.
Our buddy training program covers assisted entries and exits, underwater communication for non-verbal divers, modified buoyancy support, seizure and spasticity response protocols, and task-loading management. Whether you're a family member, caretaker, therapist, or simply a friend who wants to share the underwater world, this program gives you the skills to be an effective dive partner.
Buddy training is available as a standalone program or bundled with any certification course. No prior dive experience is required — we'll certify you and train you as a buddy simultaneously. It's one of the most rewarding things you can do as a diver.
Hyperbaric chamber treatment can cost $15,000–$30,000. DAN dive insurance provides worldwide emergency evacuation, recompression coverage, and 24/7 assistance for as little as $30/year. As certified DAN instructors, we can guide you through the process.
